A brand new AREtsian snagged a treasury and assembled a fantastic collection of Crafty Arkansans. My Rockabilly Bracelet is in a fantastic treasury featuring upcycled creations. The treasury is called One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure and is curated by live funky. Wow! I was unable to post about this treasury due to my lousy dial up but was informed by idyllhands yesterday morning that the treasury made it to the front page!!! This is one of the top etsy honors. Every hour a new treasury is picked by etsy admin. to grace the front page of etsy and this beautiful treasury made it! Thanks idyll for the front page screen shot. In one day the views on my bracelet jumped from about 50 to nearly 400! Ah, the power of the front page.

But wait, there's more! Another honor today, glassbead, who makes beautiful handmade glass beads, put my Contemporary Asian Inspired Mini Album/Journal in her treasury, Art In Your Daily Life. I'm feeling the love these days!

For The Love of Paper

I'm so excited about this new paper craft I'm testing out! I've been wanting to try this for awhile and I think it actually worked out. I made the beads out of strips of scrapbooking paper left over from my business cards. I hate to throw those strips out, even if I'm recycling, but they're really not terribly useful for scrapbooking. I mean I'm sure they are but I never think of them for that. I've been hanging on to them and this is my solution, paper bead and safety pin bracelets. Each one has a tiny skull bead on it, which my boys love to try and find. I like them so much I may try to sell some on etsy. I think I'll keep the first bracelet, which I'm lovingly calling my little piece of rockabilly.

How To Live Like a Rockstar

I just did this scrapbook layout of Lil' Spitfire, my youngest boy, when he was about 8 months old. He's now 2.5 years old, that's how behind I am! I'm loving how this turned out and the papers I used, Extreme Boy by junkitz. It's hard to find rockin' boy papers and embellishments but they did well with this line. It gets my raised in the air, pumping rock fist of approval! Hmm, get it while you can, I just read that junkitz is going out of business. I'll have to see what cool things I can find elsewhere.

It's pretty unusual for me to do a page with only one photo on it, most of my layouts are more like the second page, as many pics as I can reasonably cram on the page. I take too many pics that I like not to put as many as possible on each page, it would cost me a fortune and a million years if I didn't. I was really needing some good creative freedom, since I haven't scrapped in awhile, so I allowed myself this luxury. Totally worth it!

Doubly Featured

I was casually scrolling through the etsy treasuries last night when I saw it, the golden star of featured-ness. Then on the next page, another star! I've been featured twice, I'm ecstatic! Both treasuries are adorable all pink things for baby girls and feature my Little Princess Album Thanks for the honors!

Building A Dream

This is a chipboard album I made for our neighbors who built a new house in the field next door. I don't know them very well, that is to say at all, and I'm very shy so they haven't received it. I thought it would be good advertising for my business to start gifting my work. I think this will end up going to someone else instead, sorry neighbor.




When I was shopping for the supplies for this album I wasn't planning on a shape, I tend to think shapes are too cutesie, but my local scrap store was all out of square so I caved since it's pretty appropriate. Cutting house-shaped paper for all 16 pages was a bit of a hand cramper. It took me about 3 evenings to go from naked chipboard to completed album. Turned out pretty cute with the ruler ribbon, brads, tool stickers, inking around the edges and construction/house themed papers, if I was building a house I might keep it for myself! I loved the maroon cardstock with blind embellished houses but my favorite little detail is the lock embellishment on the front.
